In the present case study, it was possible to collect sufficient information to synthesize the landscape complexity of Cienaga Grande de Santa Marta, Colombia. This synthesis was compiled into a booklet comprising maps and a methodology for more integrative landscape management. The booklet proved useful in prototyping a workshop methodology for decision-making, allowing different stakeholders to express their opinions, thoughts, and decisions. Moreover, it took into account the existing scientific
knowledge from previous studies to contribute to better planning at both the landscape and local scales.
By enhancing governance, increasing ecosystem resilience, and promoting biodiversity conservation, this approach offers a comprehensive vision for addressing societal challenges.
